In a class of very talented offensive tackles, it is easy to argue that Tyler may be the most athletic of the bunch. He explodes off the ball and quickly gets into defenders. He does an excellent job of getting inside position with his hands and controlling defenders. Once he gets locks on he rarely loses a battle. He has excellent feet and balance, and effortlessly works through trash. He plays with good leverage, can get under defenders pads, and does a nice job of generating power from the hips. He has the size and leg drive to push lineman off the ball in the run game. He can quickly get up to the second level and has the change of direction skills to adjust to moving targets. He runs very smoothly in the open field and is a threat to make a block anywhere between the white lines. One thing that jumps out at you is how relentless he is, he blocks until the echo of the whistle and does a great job of finishing plays. He is a very good pass blocker that snaps out of his stance and bends at the knees. He is quick enough to kick back and handle speed rushers. He also has the lateral quickness to handle double moves and come off to pick up blitzers and stunting lineman. He also has the size to anchor versus bull rushers and wash down penetrating lineman. Tyler has the athletic ability to play anywhere on the offensive line and be a difference maker. With his size and athletic ability he can be a dominate force at the college level.
