Josiah Stratton is a crushing, dominant run blocker with the size, athleticism and balance we like to see for the tackle position at the major level of competition. This guy has the tools to step in and be an immediate starter becoming a long term force at his position. Demonstrates good flexibility in a three point stance; comes off the ball with explosion and a flat back. Gets a good fit when single blocking and does a great job blocking inside shaded defenders, knocking them back and burying them. This player has the agility and foot quickness to gain leverage on offset linemen while getting to 2nd level players; shows great explosion and playing strength vs. linebackers in space. Is quick out of his stance when asked to pull and trap; displays the ability to get to the edge, seal and locate defenders with finishing power and explosion; plays on his feet well, always looking to make additional blocks downfield. We see a player who is consistently tough and aggressive with an excellent finishing mean streak. His nimble feet, arm length and quick hands will serve him well in pass protection although work must be done to polish his overall technique. His ability to bend, slide and play flat footed is evident. His initial punch, location and extension are good; technique vs. speed rushers at the next level will need to improve. The talent level and intensity indicate a prospect with instant playing potential. Stratton could step in and become an immediate starter at the major level of competition as he continues to progress and develop his skills.
