Offensive Scouting Report

Braiden demonstrates the foot quickness and playing strength to block “0” technique defenders with great success. Has the size and athleticism for the center position at the major level of competition. Is very accurate handling shotgun snaps; has played Center and Offensive Guard, where he shows good run blocking skills. Has the flexibility, balance and agility necessary to be a successful run blocker on the line and in space; displays very good first step quickness and explosion; his initial fit and flat back allowing him to get into defenders and establish a solid blocking base; gets immediate movement as a result of his playing strength, base and leg drive. This guy does an exceptional job when asked to pull and trap; is quick out of his stance demonstrating the playing speed to get to the edge and up-field. Displays great balance and agility in space, showing the ability to play on his feet and maintain contact downfield. We see a player capable of consistently getting a hat on active 1st and 2nd level defenders; there is little doubt he is capable of making all the necessary run blocks at the next level of play. His tough finishing attitude is what we look for when evaluating offensive linemen. His quick hands and nimble feet should be assets in pass protection; demonstrates the ability to shotgun snap and short set quickly when covered. Can bend and slide his feet, showing the strength and athleticism necessary to handle both power and speed. We like his initial punch, location and extension; is constantly working to keep his hands inside the frame. We feel this player has the athleticism to help out of the box against edge rushers. Braiden will continue to add some bulk to his frame, and he is a player capable of seeing early playing time as his collegiate career unfolds.

Defensive Scouting Report

Braiden is a big boy who can get after the quarterback. He has good size and looks to be a thickly built and well put together kid who carries his weight well. He displays ability as an interior pass rusher. He moves well in a short area and once moving can be active with his hands. He has a great get-off and gets penetration with outstanding explosiveness. He does a good job of attacking half-a-man and will throw a club or be active with his weapons to try and keep blockers off of him. He displays the ability to get to the shoulder, get his hips flipped, get skinny and work by. Great quick lateral movements in short areas. He closes well on the ball, but also has good range between the tackles. You like his ability to get after the quarterback and get penetration. He takes on blocks and holds his ground. He utilizes his size to press blockers off and separate. Very evasive and avoids blockers well, but also anchors in, not vacating his gap when needed. Braiden is stout at the point of attack, a big dude who gets it done. His ability to beat blockers and get pressure makes him an interesting defensive tackle prospect.
